The FA National Futsal League for 2009 is underway,
with London-based Helvecia no doubt hoping to repeat their feat
of becoming national champions in last year's inaugural tournament.
They are again competing in the Southern League,
where they will come up against regular contenders such as FC
White Bear USSR, Corinthians and Vaughan's FC.
Having completed a domestic double by also winning
The FA Futsal Cup, Helvecia will no doubt be confident of progressing
from their region into the national finals next October, which
will see successful representatives from the Northern and Midlands
league meet to decide the Champions, who will go on to represent
England in the UEFA Futsal Cup.
In the Midlands League, teams to watch out for include
Tranmere Victoria and the Birmingham Tigers whilst the Northern
League contains sides such as Manchester Futsal Club and Loughborough
University who have both challenged for honours in recent years.
