2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup - BrazilFIFA Futsal World Cup
The FIFA Futsal World Cup is the international championship for Futsal and is held every four years, on the even year between two Football (11 vs 11) World Cups. From 1989 until 2008 it was known as the FIFA Futsal World Championship.

The most recent FIFA Futsal World Cup was held during October 2008 in Brazil. The venues were Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasília and Ginásio do Maracanãzinho in Rio de Janeiro. The opening ceremony took place in Brasília with the finals held in Rio. For the first time, 20 teams joined making this the largest edition ever held.
